I woke up this morning with the longing for something sweet. Something familiar. Then I realized I haven't baked cookies in a while. Then it hit me, it fits my description and will surely satisfy my cravings. My cookies are the very first thing that I have learned to bake. It was the first thing to come out of my oven when it first came. So I proceeded to bake them for our dessert at lunch.

'M.M.M.M.M.Mm.Mm.Mmm.Mmmmmmmmmmmmm'

I'm going to show you how to make these cookies so you yourself can try it out for yourself.

Here is what you'll need:

Ingredients:

1 Cup = Granulated Sugar

1 1/2 Cup = Brown Sugar, Packed

2 Teaspoon = Salt

1 Cup = Unsalted butter, Melted (2 sticks of butter)

2 Pieces = Eggs

2 Teaspoon = Vanilla Extract

2 1/2 Cups = All Purpose Flour

1 Teaspoon = Baking Soda

Chocolate

It's up to you how much you want to put in the mixture but for me I used:

100 grams = Mini chocolate chips

100 grams = Mini M&M's Baking chocolate

Procedure:

Preheat oven at 180 C / 350 F

In a large bowl, combine together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and the butter until a paste has formed with no lumps.

Whisk in the egg and the vanilla, beating it until light ribbons fall off the whisk.

Using a sifter, sift in the flour together with the baking soda, then fold the mixture gently with a spatula. Be careful not to overmix, this will cause the gluten in the flour to toughen which will result in cakier cookies.

Fold in the chocolate evenly. What I did is I separated the dough mixture into two parts, one for the chocolate chips and the other is for the M&M's.

Cover the bowl/s with cling wrap and chill for at least 45 minutes.

After chilling

Line a cookie sheet with grease proof paper/parchment paper. Using an ice cream scoop, or spoon if not available, scoop them onto the grease proof paper then bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges have started to barely brown.

Once done take out of the oven and let it cool. While cooling you can add more toppings to your cookies.

Shelf Life:

From baking, this can last for at least a week. I doubt that this will last that long, especially if you have sugar hungry kids!
